As a photographer and artist, my work is a celebration of life’s boundless beauty and the resilience of the human spirit. Growing up in East Germany under an oppressive regime, I discovered the power of imagination as a sanctuary from life’s confines. In 1980, my family’s courageous escape to West Berlin marked the beginning of my journey toward freedom and creativity. It was here that I saved for my first camera, a Minolta Maxxum 7000, which became my gateway to capturing the extraordinary in the everyday.

Now based on Canada’s West Coast, I use my lens to reveal the serene beauty of nature and the vibrant tapestry of human experiences. My landscapes—from tranquil coastlines to majestic mountains—offer moments of pause and reflection, while my abstract seascapes, created through slow shutter speeds and intentional blurring, evoke dreamlike interpretations of the world.

Each photograph I create is an invitation to reconnect with the beauty around us and to celebrate the extraordinary within the ordinary.
